Plans are perfect on the drawing board…

Everything may seem easy and well-orchestrated when we plan something in isolation. When we only think about what we want to do and not so much the what could happen?

Plans tend to create a level of complacency, giving us the false impression that we already made it; that we already accomplished the task.

It is for that reason that plan, and execution are two different things.

It is during the execution where we realize that there is a whole different skillset that has to be used to make those plans a reality.

Organization

Organize is the first thing to develop and execute a great plan. We need to identify the elements required to complete the task and list them in priority order.

Timing

It’s not only a matter of what to complete, but also when to complete it. Identify the best time to execute items in your plan could represent the success or failure of your plans.

Persistence

Sometimes, execute on one plan could be very emotionally involved. We may have a lot of energy on day one but been completely drained by day 3 (or week 3). We need to keep at it. Trying to force ourselves to do better and more energetic each time.

Follow Through

If you try one item and does not work, it is important to use the momentum of the previous item, rethink a new strategy and execute on the modified step. This is one of the most important steps because it is in here were you will identify that no plan is perfect.

To successfully execute your plan, you have to be able to adapt.

Modifying your plans according on how well the first steps did could be the real secret of your success. These enhancements will make a good plan into a great plan.
